A concept borne out of the challenges I faced as a working mum when it came to cooking from scratch. I wanted to make life a little easier for fellow time-poor, health conscious foodies & families. So I started with some quirky names and filling bottles with fresh ideas and fantastically different flavours.
I left my corporate career as the pressures & sacrifices I faced as a working mother were too great. I wanted to focus on my family & do something that I was truly passionate about.
I always cooked from scratch to ensure the health and well-being of me and my family. The convenient options available concerned me: prepared sauces contained high levels of salt, sugar and preservatives and lacked in freshness & flavour. I saw a gap in the market, how could I make cooking from scratch easier for time pressured home cooks like me.
March to July - I developed my concept in my home kitchen, I wanted to put cooking from scratch into a bottle. I wanted to offer a convenient, healthy & delicious solution that could be used hot or cold by all the family – without the rubbish.
Products were tasted and loved by 1000s of consumers & industry professionals, recognised as unique & disruptive. There’s a reason why no-one else had done it though – it’s not been easy or cheap to do!
August – I first launched my products into retail under the brand ‘the Saucy Affair’.
This was a major achievement, but it came with a steep learning curve related to introducing a new concept to the market. There was nothing else like it!
February - I spoke openly about my childhood food related mental illness, an eating disorder and the mental health issues I faced later in my working life. I shared my purpose to challenge the norm and bring a genuinely convenient, healthy and tasty solution to the market, whilst spearheading the importance of families and children maintaining their physical and mental wellbeing
April – I had launched too soon, there was plenty more to do, and I couldn’t do it alone. So I pressed pause on production & supply.
May - Time to get real, build the right team, find quality partners, raise funds, perfect my recipes & our proposition.
We relaunch under Tanya’s Just Real. Cold pressed sauces and dips with Just Real ingredients, No added salt, refined sugar or preservatives. Supported by a fab brand, manufacturer, team and a plan.
It's simple - we are a team of just real people who believe in making a positive difference in a world that is ever changing. We are a bunch of Mums & Dads who love food and are passionate about feeding our families tummies & minds. We may cause a Fiasco, sometimes Blunder, share Cahoots, but at the end of the day we are a Just Real team.
